I'm not fond of pigeons. I'm not going on a rant about why I don't like them because that's just a waste of a blog post. One reason that I will give though is that I don't want their poop on my windows, especially since we open our windows when it's hot (no central AC here). I don't want the smell of poop wafting through our house. And I don't want to clean their poop. So, when we saw that a couple of pigeons were building a nest, we tried scaring them away and thought it worked. In retrospect, I probably should've cleared off the twigs but I don't know that I would have because it would probably upset A. And I don't have the heart to do that, even if I don't like pigeons.
Anyway, there it is - two pigeon eggs in our daughter's window. Neither the mama or daddy pigeon seem to spend a lot of time on that nest. I just read that it takes about 17-18 days for the eggs to hatch and 30 days for baby birds to leave the nest after hatching. At least, it'll be fun for A to see.
I may or may not keep you posted on this. Like I said, I dislike pigeons.
