Last week, we suddenly realized that time was slipping away quickly and we were woefully unprepared for moving. G is still working so that leaves only me to do a bulk of it. That catapulted me into feeling overwhelmed with all that we had to do. My normal reaction to feeling overwhelmed with a laundry list of tasks is to immediately attack the list with single-mindedness. Then I realized that I couldn't do what I normally do because of a toddler. I can't expect A to patiently endure being unstrapped and strapped into her car seat over and over without a meltdown as I run errands all over creation. I can hardly do much around the house while A's awake. Whatever I
can do takes longer because of the said toddler. I know mommies of toddlers reading this post are nodding their heads in agreement. So, I nearly fell into a pit of stress and discouragement. Actually, I must confess that I
did but only indulged it for a day.
I hate asking for help but ask for help I must. I have sweet friends who have offered to watch A while I run errands, shop, write letters, pack, attend to a myriad of things. They are dear lifesavers. I'm looking forward to getting rid of things and simplifying our life. I'm not looking forward to any anxiety A may have about the changes happening around her that she can't understand. She just recently got over a bout of separation anxiety and I expect it to come back in the next two months.
Well, no worries. I think we have a handle on everything. I just wish time will slow down so we can accomplish what we need to do and at the same time, I wish time will speed up so it can all be over with. Have you ever felt that way?
So, this is the current state of affairs over here in this household: controlled frenzy.

Hey! Glad for a family blog! Two things:
1) can I "follow" a private blog or subscribe in google reader? Do you know?
2) you may want to remove those links to facebook, twitter, and so on. I can't remember how to do it or I'd tell you how. :-)
3) (an extra) you can have my granny cart when you get here if you want it. :-)
Michelle - I am still figuring this out. I've only blogged with less security than this one. I think you can subscribe in Google reader (in fact, I'm pretty sure you can). I don't know what you mean by "follow" a private blog - do you mean linking the blog on your own blog? I was hoping people wouldn't. If you can subscribe by Google reader, does it automatically follow that my blog will appear on your blog roll, for others to see? Anyway, even if it did, no one can access it without being on the list to view it. I guess it's not a huge trouble.
And yes, I'm trying to figure out how to remove the links to FB, Twitter, and all that. If you remember, let me know!
Your granny cart will probably be most appreciated! :-)
Okay, I figured out how to remove the "share" buttons for Facebook, Twitter, etc. It's actually on the design component of the blog layout (I thought it would be somewhere on the settings component). You click "edit" on blog post box. There ya go.
Umm, I don't mean by linking up on my blog...but maybe you can put a "subscribe to" box on the side, then we can subscribe in google reader even if we can't "follow." I think it's a page component that you can choose to add, just like archives or what-not. Thanks! I won't remember to come here and check regularly, but I'll read regularly if it's in my google reader, you know?
I feel ya girl! Just so you know, it gets worse before it gets better, but it does get better! Love ya!
